Other tank mates
Dwarf shrimp are peaceful in nature and are best kept in a tank of their own. They can however be kept with fish, but some losses might occur. Snails are also good tank mates as they are both peaceful and will coexist.
The only true shrimp-friendly fish is the Ottocinclus catfish (Also only called Otto cat). Not sure what fish work well with shrimp? Rule of thumb: if the shrimp can fit in the fish’s mouth, it will try and eat it.
Feeding
The Neocaridina species will accept most varieties of food but it is highly recommended to not overfeed as shrimp will also scavenge bio-film and algae in the tank for their diet.
Specialized foods are not required but they will help promote shrimp health as well as breeding.
Leaf litter is highly recommended for shrimp tanks as it promotes bio-film and boosts survival rates of baby shrimp.
- Bloody Mary Shrimp: An elite, ultra-deep red grade — even more intensely coloured than Painted Fire Red, with a rich, blood-red hue across the entire body.
Please Note: We try to sell only juvenile shrimp, but based on availability, larger shrimp might be sent sometimes. As such they are caught at random and not sexed. Where we can we try to keep a balanced ratio. If you are not happy with this arrangement, please do not order.
