Overview
Cameroon Moss is a unique and attractive aquatic moss species, prized for its dense, bushy growth and vibrant green coloration. Native to Africa, it is a rare but increasingly popular choice among aquarists for creating lush aquascapes and providing natural habitats for aquatic species.
Physical Characteristics:
Appearance: Features small, tightly packed leaves that grow in a compact, bushy form, creating a rich and textured look.
Color: Bright green to deep green, depending on light and water conditions.
Growth Rate: Slow to moderate, making it easy to maintain without frequent trimming.
Aquarium Uses:
Aquascaping: Ideal for attaching to driftwood, rocks, or creating carpets on the substrate.
Shelter: Provides hiding spots and breeding surfaces for shrimp, fry, and small fish.
Aesthetic: Enhances the natural look of aquariums, especially in nature-themed or biotope setups.
Care Requirements:
Light: Low to medium lighting is sufficient, but higher light can encourage denser growth.
CO₂: Not necessary, but optional CO₂ supplementation promotes faster and healthier growth.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 22°C–28°C (72°F–82°F).
pH: 6.0–7.5.
Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water.
Propagation:
Method: Propagates naturally through division. Simply break off a portion of the moss and attach it to a new surface with thread, glue, or mesh.
Growth Spread: Gradually spreads and adheres to surfaces over time.
Maintenance Tips:
Trim occasionally to maintain shape and prevent overgrowth.
Clean gently to remove debris and prevent algae buildup.
Ensure good water flow to prevent detritus from settling in the moss.
Compatibility:
Tankmates: Safe for all freshwater species, including shrimp, small fish, and snails.
Shrimp Tanks: Particularly favored by shrimp keepers, as it provides surfaces for biofilm and microorganisms to grow, which shrimp love to graze on.
Cameroon Moss is an excellent choice for aquarists seeking a unique and easy-to-maintain plant for their aquarium. Its versatility and vibrant appearance make it a standout addition to aquascapes of all styles.

The service was really great. It arrived on the day they said it would and the Cameroon moss looked really great and healthy. I even received cute little stickers. Thank you so much
